Kick Off Elvis Week In Style @ Sharon Parker's Elvis Meet Up @ Marlowe's

Coming to Memphis in the next few days? Be sure to kick off your Elvis Birthday Celebration in traditional Elvis fan style, join Ms. Sharon Parker and her many, many friends at Marlowe's for lots of fun and memories. Meet fellow fans and new friends as well as support a great charity, the Humane Society. Ms. Sharon Parker is the sweetest, kindness lady and therefore she has ALOT of well known Elvis friends so you never know who you will meet there. This event gets packed quick, so get there early otherwise it goes to Standing Room Only! THURSDAY, JANUARY 6 Meet Up at Marlowe's 12:00 p.m. Join other Elvis fans for a meet and greet at Marlowe's Restaurant, 4381 Elvis Presley Blvd. There will be door prizes and an Elvis auction to benefit the Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County. FAST FACTS: Assault happened early Sunday Two victims were stabbed One is in critical condition (MEMPHIS) -- Memphis Police are investigating an incident at a popular Beale Street Club. Police say officers with the Entertainment District Unit responded to an aggravated assault at Club 152 around 3:45 A.M. Sunday. Police say two men suffered stab wounds. Police say a 32-year-old victim suffered critical injuries, a 24-year-old victim's injuries were non-critical. Police say the incident started with an altercation inside the club. The police department has a 33-year-old suspect in custody, and we're told charges are pending. Also in news, For the second time in three days, a Memphis-area bank was robbed. On Tuesday, police said Shaun Cheveallier robbed Trust One Bank at 7540 North Street in Germantown. Around 11:25 this morning, a lone man entered the Bank of America at 4350 Elvis Presley Blvd . Most fans know Cricket from the original version of Elvis That's The Way It Is film. Cricket is a super Elvis fan who met Elvis many times. Cricket is a well known lady in the Elvis world. We heard the news last night that Cricket got married in June of 2010. And we just wanted to say Congratulations to the newlyweds! Much happiness to you both!

Rock-A-Billy Hall of Fame Museum to form advisory board, name queen in 2011

A Jackson music museum is looking for new ways to draw visitors and attention. The Jackson Sun reports the Rock-A-Billy Hall of Fame Museum is talking about forming an advisory board of people in the music and tourism industries. Organizers also are planning to name a rockabilly queen this year. Museum director Henry Harrison says promoting the future of the rockabilly music genre will help preserve its history. Among performers honored at the museum are Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins and Johnny Burnette. The directors are also considering paving a new parking lot for the museum in downtown Jackson, called the city where rockabilly was born by the hall of fame.
