Walking Tall Trail To Include Graceland

State officials are trying to spur tourism in West Tennessee by establishing a new driving trail featuring 196 points of interest and historic sites. The self-guided Walking Tall Trail runs through 360 miles of road in eight West Tennessee counties. It includes Adamsville, home of Sheriff Buford Pusser of "Walking Tall" movie fame; Shiloh, the site of a key Civil War battle; and Memphis, the longtime home of rock 'n roll king Elvis Presley. The concept is similar to the White Lightning Trail, established in June. That trail retraces a network of roadways that spans across nine counties in northeast Tennessee. Tennessee tourism and transportation officials are holding events in Adamsville and Memphis to commemorate the Walking Tall Trail.
