Fontana became one of the most influential drummers in music history through his work with Elvis Presley and the Blue Moon Boys (Scotty Moore and Bill Black). Influenced by the swing of big band music, with an innate feel for country and rhythm & blues, Fontana was a perfect fit for Presley and his band. Just listen to the crack of the snare on "Jailhouse Rock" or to Fontana's fills on "Hound Dog." In addition to over 460 Presley tracks, Fontana drummed on records by artists in the country (Dolly Parton, Charley Pride, Waylon Jennings) and rock (Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Keith Richards, Jeff Beck, and Cheap Trick) worlds.
