Sandra Shevey interviewed Priscilla for the August 1973 issue of Ladies' Home Journal. It was the first time the magazine sold out during the month it was published and had to run a second printing. The interview Mrs Presley's was the first after the divorce proceedings had begun between her and Elvis Presley and was conducted at her apartment in Marina Del Rey. It is unique in its simplicity and the subtext of the liberation of a child bride, married to a superstar who left her on her own for a major part of the marriage.
