James Burton's son Jeff in need of a liver and kidney transplant - Family asks for Prayers!

Image
  September 2 - "Update from the Burton's.. .They are not going to give Jeff a liver & kidney transplant. If ANYONE knows where we can take him or knows anyone at Vanderbilt that can help us to change their minds please contact them!!! We are asking for worldwide prayer from all of our prayer warriors for Jeff. They said he would die in about 2 or 3 days without a transplant. PLEASE pray that God takes his body and heals it. We could use some prayer warriors and the healers to come pray with us at the hospital. I feel like laying on of hands would help him too. Needless to say that we are turning all of it over to GOD. He is the healer! Please pray with FAITH. Jeff does not want to die! More information as it becomes available. On behalf of the entire Burton family...Thank you and God bless you!!!"  Previous Updates: "On behalf of the Burton's we are calling on all prayer warriors all over the world and asking for urgent prayers for their son Jeff.

EPE plans a NEW Concert Venue - Get Ready for More Fees and Price Hikes!

Image
Get ready folks to shell out EVEN More Money when visiting Graceland! According to The Memphis Biz Journal , " EPE is planning a permanent concert venue that would be the second-largest in Shelby County. Initial plans call for a $40 million to $50 million, 6,200-seat facility with a half-arena format and light and sound technology to host concerts, graduations and basketball tournaments. With that seat count, if it's an indoor facility, the Graceland arena would fall between the 20,000-seat FedExForum and 2,500-seat Orpheum, said Jay Campbell, a transaction law attorney and partner in charge of the Memphis office of Adams and Reese, on behalf of Elvis Presley Enterprises (EPE). The outdoor Mud Island Amphitheater has about 5,000 seats. Based on conversations with LiveNation and other concert promoters, EPE estimates it can bring at least 50 events each year to the new venue. When EPE approached the Memphis City Council in 2014 about transforming its campus (

Miley Cyrus - Elvis Inspired Theme in new video, Younger Now - Watch Here!

Image
G I Blues inspired Miley Cyrus has released her new video, Younger Now which is very much Elvis inspired. Miley wears a jumpsuit and she recreates a scene straight out of Elvis Presley's 1960 film, G I Blues. Guess Miley doesn't have a Wooden heart after all!💖 It's the liberal 24-year-old's latest effort to win over (or perhaps win back?) country music fans and red-state residents, as promised in her June cover story for Billboard: "I don’t think those people are going to listen to me when I'm sitting there in nipple pasties, you know? " she told the mag. For the cover of "Younger Now," the former "Hannah Montana" star traded in her signature accessory for an Elvis-inspired coif and rhinestone jumpsuit. Her styling also paid tribute to her godmother Dolly Parton , who will be featured on the album's " Rainbowland " track. LA Times. Cyrus' full album drops on Sept. 29. Pre Order my new a

Elvis Presley Funeral - Ham Embree - The Sketch Artist

Image
This is a report from WHAS 11 main anchor Jim Mitchell who made the trip down to Memphis for Elvis Presley's funeral. He even found local people from Kentuckiana who made the trip. I love seeing the footage of all the fans who made the trip to Memphis to pay their respects to Elvis. What stood out to me was the sketch artist Ham Embree's rendering of Elvis Presley lying in state with Priscilla and Vernon standing beside him. The local artist is Martha Hamilton.  “Ham” Embree, noted Memphis artist, was also a courtroom sketch artist. Hamilton had been commissioned to do the courtroom drawings by local television stations. A pioneer in television animation, she was the courtroom artist for CBS News and its Memphis affiliate, WREG-TV, Channel 3. Embree’s drawings gave visual reality to trials that could be covered by courtroom reporters but not photographers. Memphis - Good Eating! Classic Memphis spots and Elvis' Favorites!

Image
Leonard’s Pit Barbecue One of Elvis' Favorites! 5456 Fox Plaza Drive, Memphis • (901) 360-1963 Hours: Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.;
Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Leonard Heuberger opened Leonard’s Pit Barbecue at the corner of Bellevue and McLemore in 1922. Today, it’s owned by Dan Brown, who started working there in 1962. The restaurant is now located in Hickory Ridge, and there is still a steady stream of customers searching for the same barbecue sandwiches and fried chicken Elvis used to eat when Leonard’s was the town’s largest drive-in. The sandwiches are meaty, the sauce is rich and tangy, and the slaw is mustardy. Great big seasoned potato wedges stand in for fries, and I highly recommend you give them a try. There is also brisket and barbecue bologna on the menu. The daily lunch buffet is popular, serving up Southern favorites like catfish and country-fried steak, in addition to ribs and sandwiches. http://leonardsbarbecue.com/ The

Protestors are encouraging EPE to drop the new FEE to visit Elvis Presley's Grave (Video)

Looks like Graceland's new fee to visit Elvis' grave and other jacked up fees are backfiring on them. Fans from around the world, as well as Memphians and local businesses have reached out to me to express their outrage. Some even saying, this may be the last hurrah. And that maybe the company or "campus" as they now call themselves has become too greedy. And that they are USING last year's protests as an excuse to charge fans to pay their respects to Elvis during the candle light vigil started BY FANS and FOR FANS . Even protesters from last year are encouraging EPE to drop the 28.75 FEE. From Fox 13 Memphis Demonstrators who filed a discrimination lawsuit against Graceland told FOX13 they believe their protest last year may have led to this year’s security changes during Elvis Week. In an email to FOX13 Thursday, Elvis Presley Enterprises confirmed what it called “updated security measures” during Elvis Week. Related Headlines For the first time, Gr

EPE announces FEE to visit Elvis Presley's grave

Image
Elvis fans, for the first time ever, will have to pay to get onto the grounds at Graceland for the vigil. A wrist-band will cost between $28-$75 and without it, Elvis fans will not be allowed through the gates of Graceland. Many fans are horrified and outraged. One fan even went as far as to call them Money Hungry Bastards. Pretty CLEVER this was just announced LATE Thursday night when fans are just arriving or headed to Graceland, huh? Too late to cancel. Maybe Clever is the wrong word. More like Sneaky and dishonest! It also shows they KNEW fans would be upset about this. IF this really was a "safety" concern, why not be upfront about it? My Fox 13 Memphis reached out to Elvis Presley Enterprises Thursday evening and they received this statement from EPE "This year we have updated our security measures at Graceland for Elvis Week, as we anticipate very large crowds for this 40th anniversary. In order to keep everyone safe and ensure an enjoyable and
