Guesthouse at Graceland robbers use master key acting as housekeeping to steal from guests! (and Fans outrage over Elvis Week) UPDATED

WREG Memphis reports two men are accused of pretending to be housekeeping staff to enter rooms at the Guest House at Graceland.

Officers were called to the hotel around 6 a.m. Sunday, where a security worker relayed complaints about men entering rooms, posing as housekeeping staff.

He said he saw the suspects driving toward the exit, and police were able to detain them.

The security worker told police one of the suspects used to work at the Guest House at Graceland but was terminated and banned from the premises. The Guest House at Graceland clarified neither suspect was an employee; they were contract agency workers, one former and one current.

The hotel said it is terminating its relationship with that temp agency.

Police said one of the suspects had a master key card in his possession as well as stolen property.
Security footage showed the two suspects went into multiple rooms, police said.

The Guest House at Graceland said the stolen property was returned to the guests and the controlled-access system was reset right away.

Police did not give the names of the suspects.

BIM - Be careful folks! Especially the ladies traveling to Elvis Week together. Like I have said before, you can't build a beautiful mecca in the middle of a war zone and not expect crime and violence.

This news breaks as life long, loyal Elvis fans got the ultimate middle finger today with the announcement of ticket prices for Elvis Week, which is filled with the SAME OLD, SAME OLD.

Add that to your hotel bill. You know the hotel that was hawked to the fans that it would have Super 8 prices. HA!

Elvis Never wanted to raise the prices of his tickets for his fans. Trust me, he is spinning in his grave.

Elvis fans are outraged and heart broken. We are everyday people and these prices are beyond our means. So what does that tell you? We, Elvis fans are not wanted anymore.

Elvis Presley Enterprises has little to do with Elvis anymore. Well, 15 percent:) Well, let's see if the audience they are targeting will come back YEAR AFTER YEAR like all of us.

We the fans made EPE a success because of OUR LOYALTY to Elvis Presley. And this is the Thank You we get.

My friends are dropping like flies from Elvis Week. And today a huge chunk decided to cancel because of this nonsense. Many say they will HONOR Elvis in their own way.

I feel a huge disonnect among the fans now. Many are staying in various Miss. hotels and others all over Memphis. Normally, you go to the tent or the plaza and you KNOW you are going to run into more than a few of your friends. Now we are all scattered. Breaks my heart.

I,myself have some thinking to do. Maybe it's best to cancel my plans and remember Elvis Week when it was about Elvis and his fans. Those days are over, my friends! 😢


Soon after this post, a fan named Bruce who was staying at the hotel added more details about the ordeal that I thought I would share with you. "Megan I have even more for you, concerning the robbery at G@G,It was not the security man who caught the robbers ,It was me who involved him in the hunt for them after I came face to face with two of the robbers, in my bedroom. I raised the alarm, I walked the corridors with the security man and I identified them to him, the police may have caught them, but had it not been for my quick actions and help they could have emptied loads of rooms of the guests contents without capture.
While the Security guard thanked me for my help and trouble, and offered to buy me a drink, The management have done nothing not even contacted me, and they also claim it was their surveillance systems which trapped them!! ha ha, their security is a joke,So Elvis Fans BEWARE.
We are talking sleeping guests could have been murdered, injured or raped as they slept here, I don't think they have a choice in this one, there is legal action heading their way if they do not accept they have handled this badly, very badly. When you put 450 guests and families etc at risk, through negligence then you are breaking the law."
