Rock-A-Billy Hall of Fame Museum to form advisory board, name queen in 2011
A Jackson music museum is looking for new ways to draw visitors and attention. The Jackson Sun reports the Rock-A-Billy Hall of Fame Museum is talking about forming an advisory board of people in the music and tourism industries. Organizers also are planning to name a rockabilly queen this year. Museum director Henry Harrison says promoting the future of the rockabilly music genre will help preserve its history. Among performers honored at the museum are Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins and Johnny Burnette. The directors are also considering paving a new parking lot for the museum in downtown Jackson, called the city where rockabilly was born by the hall of fame.
