Riley Keough sports Anti Trump hat at Sundance
Elvis Presley's grand daughter and actress, Riley Keough walked the red carpet at the Sundance Film Festival Friday evening rocking a red baseball cap, reading, "Make America Native Again."
The phrase — a play on President Trump's slogan "Make America Great Again" — was coined by a Navajo artist, who created the hats to help raise awareness for marginalized indigenous people.
Keough, 27, weathered the weekend's heavy snowfall to promote her new movie, The Discovery, which premiered at Sundance.
The sci-fi thriller, which co-stars Jason Segel and Rooney Mara, imagines a not-so-distance future in which the existence of an afterlife has been verified, causing millions of people to commit suicide in order to reach it.
Keough plays a young woman whose father and sister killed themselves, leaving her alone and mentally checked-out.
So far, The Discovery has drawn mixed reactions from festival-goers, inciting a couple of walkouts and a flurry of divided opinions on Twitter.
The photo is captioned, Happy Inauguration day, and posted January 21st, a day AFTER Our president was swore in.
While I do not share Riley's views, I will NOT bash her. She is entitled to her own opinion. And although, I have less than a hand full of friends who also do not share the same opinion as me, we respect each other.
I'm sure the fact that she has Native American heritage from her great grandmother's side, Gladys Dove (Elvis' mother) makes this cause close to her heart.
What makes Riley different from other Hollyweirdos is she isn't insulting Americans who have different views than her. For Example, Michael Shannon who failed at the role of Elvis Presley in the worst Elvis movie ever made, Elvis and Nixon. Shannon called Middle America a big red
Riley has expressed her opinion and feelings with CLASS!
And I applaud her for that. But then again she IS a Presley!
