Elvis Presley's Presidential Medal of Freedom accepted by EPE Employee, Presley Family Snubs Honor
Today, Elvis Presley received one of THE highest honors to be bestowed on an American, the Presidential Medal of Freedom at the White House by President Donald Trump. Jack Soden, CEO of Elvis Presley Enterprises was there to accept the honor on behalf of the Presley family. Meanwhile in LA, Priscilla Presley, Elvis' ex wife, mother to his only child, and still on payroll at EPE was with crooner Michael Buble to celebrate his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Slap in the face? In my opinion, YES! I think Elvis would be very hurt by this. Elvis was a patriotic American who not only LOVED this country, he served this country. Elvis came from nothing and he is the epitome of the American Dream. Elvis would be so honored by this award. Yet at the same time, many fans feel he would be heart broken that his family did not accept this on his behalf. His only daughter who he adored, his grandchildren?

But this is about your Daddy or your Granddad, do it for him and all he has given you. You don't have to like the President to accept this award. Show some RESPECT for your daddy or Granddad! Instead you send an employee? A hired hand? How Hollyweirdo is that?

I mean nothing against Jack. I, personally feel if any employee had to go, I'm glad it was Jack. Soden has been there from the beginning. Let us not forget the Presley family was also absent when Elvis was inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame in 1986. It was Jack and George Klein who accepted on behalf of the family. So friends, this disrespect is nothing new. Personally I'd rather Jack than one of the many owners EPE has changed hands with since Lisa sold EPE. We all know the current owner would not attend such an event.

Media has reached out to Lisa Marie's camp and still have gotten no response why she did not attend this historic moment on behalf of her father. One family member, BLOOD family member not a "fake" family member made the comment that both LMP and PP can attend ribbon cuttings at Graceland etc but could not attend this? And they have a valid point. This is a prestigious award. And regardless of your political views, put that aside. Look, many of us have a neighbor, a co-worker, someone we do business with that we don't care for or share the same views with but we have to interact with them. That's how the world works. By being self righteous, who gets hurt? In this case, Elvis' legacy. Very sad. No family support? Where are your morals? Your family value? Your family loyalty? Is it only about showing up on big anniversaries and company mandated events for which you get paid for? Is it really all about the Benjamins?
And with PP, regardless if she committed to being there for Buble in advance, come on, no brainer.....Elvis is TOP priority! Aside from being the father of your child, your first love, your ex husband....Elvis is your main source of income. How about some respect for Elvis? Is it just about $$$$? But then I get to thinking back to the summer. Remember when Lisa's brother put her on blast on IG? Oh I remember. And I remember all the gritty details he gave us about how they feel about us Elvis fans. So now let me ask you this, what consequences are there for them disrespecting Elvis? NONE!
We all will go buy Lisa's next CD, Priscilla's new book or jewelry, etc,etc. We all will PAY $$$ to go see this award and put food on their table to view this award. And I am not criticizing anyone for it or telling you not to support them. I am just talking out loud. They know WE Elvis fans are loyal and we will come, we will support regardless of anything.
BUT our hearts hurt today for Elvis. Don't they? It's a bittersweet day. We are beaming with pride and love for Elvis and yet we are disappointed and heartbroken for him at the same time. And regardless of what party you vote for, at the end of the day we all are Elvis fans and we all love him just the same. People keep asking what excuse will LMP give? My question to you is, do you really think it will even be addressed? It never is. Whatever HOT TOPIC it is. We Elvis fans could teach them a thing or two about being a FAMILY and about LOYALTY. What a crying shame, they did not have Elvis' back for this. It is outrageous. Elvis fans are furious mad and heart broken for Elvis.
Friends, before we all engage in a political fight, let's remember we are ALL on ONE side, ELVIS PRESLEY! And let's remember how Elvis felt about expressing his own political views.
