  The reviews among Elvis fans are mixed for Sun Records , the new drama on CMT which premiered last night. Most LOVE it , Some don't like it at all, and others want to give it a chance. Myself, I LIKE it . Last night was an introduction to all the characters . I think the writers and producers did a fine job summing up all that early history in less than an hour! I loved how they summed up Colonel Parker. It was PERFECT! I also liked the inclusion of Eddy Arnold. See, it's THOSE DETAILS that make the difference! Very Cool!  Details like this take time and KNOWLEDGE! And that is something most TV shows and movies don't have! Hats off to the writers! Very much appreciated, well at least by me! CMT's premiere of Sun Records airs tonight right after Nashville . The first episode is titled, "706 Union." Description: Sam Phillips moves his family to Memphis to open a recording studio to look for his first hit musical act, but instead rekindles a steamy affair. Young Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash struggle at home. Sun Records airs tonight on CMT at 10:02 PM EST . The show is only scheduled for 8 episodes for now. From the interviews I have seen with the cast, they all seem to have a great appreciation for the music and the legends their characters are based on. Nashville, TN - Guitarist Harold Bradley will be presented with the Cecil Scaife Visionary Award on Tuesday, May 17, at the Musicians Hall of Fame . Bradley, 90, is the most-recorded guitarist in music history and an inductee into the Country Music Hall of Fame. This year mark’s the 70th anniversary of his first session. He and his brother, the late Owen Bradley, built five Nashville recording studios, including the Quonset Hut on Music Row. Bradley was the first president of the Nashville chapter of NARAS and a member of the Grammy organization’s Board of Governors, and was awarded the Trustees Award at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards. Bradley also served from 1991-2008 as President of the Nashville Association of Musicians, Local 257 of the American Federation of Musicians, and also was elected as the international vice president until 2010. Randy Travis spoke for the first time since his stroke at the 2016 Induction ceremony at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville . This took a lot of courage. God bless him! We love him and pray for him everyday. Randy has more courage than most! I adored Randy Always! I was in his fan club, had his albums (yes,dates me!), I even met him in NYC after a Letterman appearance and he could not have been nicer! I was to see him in Philly in 1991 but the night before my 19 year old cousin Doug was killed. April 8, 1991. I couldn't listen to his music for a long time. Randy, keep fighting! And keep going! You are so courageous! My brother is deaf and he talks funny to many. Sometimes people laugh and it hurts. My mom had a stroke a few years ago, and people laughed when she talked. It took a lot for me not to knock them out. But she carried on and talks fine today! But you're more courageous than them! Keep TCBing! We love you and are praying for you!

The Country Music Association announced three newly elected inductees to the Country Music Hall of Fame . Charlie Daniels will be inducted in the Veteran’s Era category. Fred Foster will be inducted in the Non-Performer category. Randy Travis will be the 2016 inductee in the Modern Era category. These artists will be inducted during a special Medallion Ceremony at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in the CMA Theater later this year. During the Medallion Ceremony, friends and colleagues pay tribute to each inductee through words and song. The Washington Post's Helena Andrews spoke with 'Nashville' actor, Chip Esten while in town for the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner last Saturday, May 3, 2014. They talked about many topics. But what I found most interesting was that Esten says Hank Williams is his inspiration for his character, Deacon Claybourne . Who is your favorite country music singer? Hank Williams. He just set the template and unfortunately set the template for some of those demons I was talking about, but what he was able to do was to take his pain and put it in a song that can tear you up or it can lift you. It’s hard to get better than Hank. So would you say he was your inspiration for “Deacon”? Hank Williams is absolutely one of the people who inspires the character of Deacon, and not just him, but his songs. Those songs come from a real true place. TMZ released this photo of Bobby Brown at the airport in Nashville a few minutes ago. He is boarding a plane to LA after canceling show in Nashville tonight. It's terribly sad that Brown traveled 3 additional hours away from his daughter from Memphis to Nashville. He should have canceled his show and left Memphis immediately to be with his daughter Bobbi instead of considering performing in Nashville. Tonight. It took all day to finally decide after 5 pm to cancel. Bobbi Kristina needs our prayers more than ever. It won't be long now Brown will be shopping book deals & paid interviews. Dolly Parton is partnering with Gaylord Entertainment to open an entertainment park in Nashville. The park is said to include a water & snow park. The mayor of Nashville & TN state governor are on hand for the press conference underway now. NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Two of the biggest names in Tennessee tourism have announced plans to build an amusement park near Gaylord Opryland Hotel. Dolly Parton and Gaylord Entertainment CEO Colin Reed announced they will partner up to build a first of its kind 114 acre family entertainment zone off Briley Parkway. Its first phase will be a $50 million water and snow theme park. Governor Bill Haslam and Mayor Karl Dean were on hand for the announcement Thursday afternoon at the Grand Ole Opry House. The park will provide high energy water activities for the summer season and designated snow activities for winter play.
