MEMPHIS, TN -
(WMC-TV) - Moments after an elderly couple was carjacked in the parking lot of Bally's Casino in Tunica, the suspect was spotted by a Walls, Mississippi officer. The pursuit went from Mississippi to Memphis and was all caught on camera.
Suspect Yarley Lyons went to great lengths to avoid arrest. The wild pursuit was all caught on the dashboard camera of the Walls Police Chief Gary Boisseau.
"Our police chief, Gary Boisseau, was listening on the radio and intercepted the vehicle which came through the town of Walls," said Walls prosecutor Stan Little.
Little walked Action News 5 through the chase from the moment Boisseau caught up with Lyons' stolen car on Highway 61. At one point, the champagne-colored Bonneville pulled over.
"Both officers get out of their respective cars with both their guns drawn," said Little. "As they approach the suspect's vehicle, he takes off."
Lyons crossed the state line into Memphis and finally bailed out when Boisseau rear ended him at Third Street and Western Park Drive. Lyons disappeared into the woods on foot.
Lyons covered a lot of ground in the eight hours police were looking for him. They caught up with him in the 3000 block of Chisca in Memphis.
Little said he wants criminals to know they are not protected by the boundaries of jurisdiction when the public's safety is at risk.
"I hope that sends a message that regardless of what you do, if you come down here dead set on committing a crime, we're going to pursue you wherever you may go," said Little.
Lyons has been transferred from Shelby County to Tunica County. He is facing charged of carjacking, kidnapping and robbery. His bond was set at $300,000.
He could face additional charges for running from police in Mississippi and Memphis.

|Casey Anthony in court today|
TMZ reports that Porn King Steve Hirsch, of Vivid Entertainment has officially withdrawn his offer to 25 year old, Casey Anthony. Hirsch -- who reached out to Anthony's lawyer yesterday in the hopes of landing a deal -- has now reversed course ... telling TMZ, "It has become obvious to us that Vivid fans, and people in general, want nothing to do with her and that includes a XXX movie."
Hirsch explains, "We were ready to make an offer to Casey to star in one of our feature films. It's clear to me now, however, that there has been an overwhelmingly negative response to our offer and so we've decided to withdraw it."
He adds, "We now believe that we underestimated the emotional response that people are having to the verdict. A movie starring Casey Anthony is not what people want to see."
The MOST HATED MOTHER in America walks free next Wednesday, July 13th. Casey Anthony was sentenced to 4 years in jail but with time serviced, she'll be walking the streets (not so freely) next week. It's probably in Miss Anthony's best interest she was not released today due to the angry crowds outside the courthouse and in the community.
"A worn out crew of volunteers in the backyard at my Dad's finishing some pizza and ice cold drinks after their hard work. In the distance we heard an ice cream truck with its merry melody. It got closer and closer until it drove into the driveway to the backyard, opened its side door and treated everyone to ice cream. The smiles on the worn faces as they ate their Astro Pops and Push-Ups was a beautiful moment." said Cowboy's daughter, Alison.
