The Grove Grill in Memphis - The FINEST Dining!

The Grove Grill 4550 Poplar Avenue Memphis, TN
COUNTRY SHRIMP AND GRITS
WOOD GRILLED SALMON
We visited one of THE top ten fine dining restaurants in Memphis, The Grove Grill. And it was amazing! This is traditional southern food with a modern twist. The staff was very knowledgeable and polite. The restaurant itself was very spacious with private rooms for larger parties which we like for Elvis Week! The wine list was quite impressive. And this is definitely one of the most romantic restaurants in Memphis for couples. I bet they are packed on Valentine's Day. This is for sure a place I will recommend to folks traveling to Memphis! And a place we will frequent during our many trips to Memphis.I have been traveling to Memphis over 25 years, and this is by far one of THE best meals I have had, if not THE best!
If you're looking for ribs, you came to the wrong place! But after you have visited our ribs recommendation of Cozy Corner, which may very well be THE best ribs we have had in Memphis (so far) and you are looking for a relaxing evening of fine dining, go to The Grove Grill.
We started with WOOD GRILLED ARTICHOKE AND SHRIMP - Mango slaw and mango BBQ sauce. It was very good. And next time, we are thinking about the CRISP CHICK-PEA FRIES - Moroccan tomato coulis. Sounds so good!
Our main courses included COUNTRY SHRIMP AND GRITS, TN white stone ground grits and herb tasso gravy and WOOD GRILLED SALMON, summer squash, sweet potatoes and field pea ragu, port butter. Both absolutely delicious! The Shrimp and Grits was my favorite and I will order that again! A dish you just have to dare to try and you won't regret it! Trust me, a Jersey girl does not eat grits but this was outstanding!
We wanted a wine similar to one we had the night before at Ruth Chris' Steak House in Germantown, so we asked our waiter to recommend a wine. And they were very gracious and brought us a lovely bottle almost as good.
We then dived into desserts with VANILLA CRÈME BRULÈE and a HOT FUDGE SUNDAE. Now these desserts were just enough and not heavy, very fresh and an absolute delight. The Sundae was not a pig fest, it was a fresh clean alternative but delightful. If you are looking for better food choices like myself, this is a place for you. Fresh ingredients, healthier food choices, and traditional southern cuisine fused with a modern flare with pride and passion behind the dishes! Put The Grove Grill on your Memphis bucket list! It is a MUST!
